Cookie Policy
We explain what information Ayvalık FM stores in the browser, why it is used and how you can clear your preferences.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
As of 13 August 2026, Ayvalık FM's own site code does not set cookies for advertising, marketing or user profiling. This version also does not use a visitor analytics tool such as Google Analytics.
However, for the radio and Gediz features to work, the site uses the browser's localStorage and sessionStorage storage areas. These are not technically cookies, but they are browser technologies that store information on your device.
2. Information stored in the browser
- Radio preference: The last selected channel and certain channel-group preferences may be stored in localStorage.
- Gediz session ID: A technical session ID may be stored in localStorage so that the Gediz AI conversation can continue in the same browser.
- Gediz conversation history: A browser copy of a short conversation history may be stored in sessionStorage and is tied to the browser session.
3. Third-party resources
Your browser may send technical requests to external or separate infrastructure such as the radio stream, Gediz AI service, Open-Meteo weather/sea service and Unsplash images. These services may use standard connection logs or their own technologies to operate their systems. If you click the Instagram link, Instagram's own cookie and privacy policies apply.
4. How can you manage your preferences?
You can clear Ayvalık FM localStorage/sessionStorage records from your browser's site data, cookies and storage settings. This may reset your saved channel selection or Gediz session information.
5. If new cookies are added in the future
If a non-essential analytics, advertising or marketing cookie/technology is introduced and applicable law requires explicit consent, that technology will not be activated before the user's choice is obtained and this policy will be updated.
This text was prepared on the basis of the technical structure of the Ayvalık FM website as of 13 August 2026. If new membership, payment, analytics, advertising, cookie or data-collection features are added to the site, the relevant texts should also be updated.
